Multi-language Interpreter Services

If you (or someone you’re assisting) have questions regarding your care, you are entitled to free help and information in your preferred language.

Language Assistance and Alternative Formats

To enhance communication, Insight Hospital & Medical Center Trumbull offers the following services free of charge:

  • Over-the-phone interpretation in over 200 languages
  • American Sign Language interpreters (in-person or via video)
  • Linguistically-trained interpreters for visually impaired patients
  • Video interpretation using smartphones or computers
  • Teletype (TTY) services
  • Written materials in languages other than English
  • Alternative formats, including braille, audio, large print, and accessible PDFs

Your Provider’s Responsibilities

Your providers are required to offer free language assistance and in-person sign language interpretation upon request. If you need communication assistance, please inform the staff. If a provider does not meet your needs.

We strive to continuously improve our digital platforms to meet or exceed universal design standards and web accessibility guidelines, including Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act and WCAG 2.0 AA from the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative.
